Prevent Alarm Sounds During MTB-CUT M288 Installation

Turn off the phone before placing it in the MTB-CUT M288 installation chamber to prevent the silicone pad from accidentally activating the side power button.

If the MTB-CUT M288 triggers an alarm sound while installing a screen protector, especially on an iPhone, do not worry. The silicone pad used to press the screen protector firmly against the phone during vacuum installation may accidentally press the phone’s side power button. This is normal and does not indicate that the machine is malfunctioning. Turn off the phone before placing it into the installation chamber.

What the Alarm Sound Means

An alarm during the installation process does not, by itself, mean there is a fault with the MTB-CUT M288. The documented behavior is associated with how the phone is positioned and pressed during vacuum installation. It is especially noted when installing screen protectors on iPhone models.

The key distinction is that the alarm can occur during a normal installation process. The sound is not documented as evidence that the machine has failed or that the installation chamber is malfunctioning.

Documented Cause During Installation

The MTB-CUT M288 uses a silicone pad to ensure that the screen protector is pressed firmly against the phone during vacuum installation. While applying this pressure, the silicone pad may accidentally press the phone’s side power button. That unintended button press is the documented cause of the alarm behavior.

Because the silicone pad has a necessary role in pressing the protector against the phone, the occurrence is described as normal rather than a machine malfunction.

How to Prevent the Alarm

Use the following supported procedure before starting the installation:

  1. Turn off the phone before putting it into the MTB-CUT M288.
  2. Place the powered-off phone into the machine’s installation chamber.
  3. Proceed with the screen protector installation while the phone remains turned off.

Turning off the phone before chamber placement prevents an accidental press of the side power button from activating the phone during the vacuum installation process.

Expected Result and Applicable Scope

With the phone turned off before it enters the installation chamber, the silicone pad can press firmly against the phone without the side power button triggering the documented alarm behavior. This recommendation applies to screen protector installation with the MTB-CUT M288 and is particularly relevant when the alarm occurs with iPhone models.

If the alarm was caused by the silicone pad accidentally pressing the side power button, it should not be treated as an indication of an MTB-CUT M288 malfunction. The supported preventive action is to power off the phone before every affected installation.
