Why Cutting Machine Data Updates May Take Time

Data update time depends on the server connection speed and the amount of data, while routine updates can run automatically in the background when the machine remains online.

A data update may take a long time because its download duration depends on the connection speed between the cutting machine and the server, as well as the amount of data being updated. Keep the machine connected to the internet so that it can perform small updates automatically and silently in the background. In most cases, you do not need to select “Data Update” manually every time.

What Determines the Update Time

The duration of a data update is not fixed. Two documented factors affect how long the download takes: the speed of the machine’s connection to the server and the amount of data included in the update. A slower connection or a larger amount of update data can therefore correspond with a longer download time.

The machine also handles small background updates while it remains connected to the internet. These updates run silently, so routine data updates do not always require a separate manual action.

What to Do When an Update Is Taking Time

Use these points to decide whether any action is needed:

  1. Keep the cutting machine connected to the internet so that background updates can continue.
  2. Allow for differences in update time based on the server connection speed and the amount of data being downloaded.
  3. Do not select “Data Update” manually every time unless there is a separate reason to run the update again.

A long update time by itself does not change the fact that small updates can be completed automatically in the background while the machine stays online.

Common Questions

Do I need to run Data Update every time?

No. In most cases, manually selecting “Data Update” each time is unnecessary. Keeping the machine connected to the internet allows it to perform small background updates silently.

What if the machine displays a data update error?

A data update error may be caused by an unstable network connection during the update. Connect the machine to a different Wi-Fi network or use a mobile hotspot. Then go to “My” → “Data Update” and run the data update again.

What if the message is “K_data_update_error”?

This specific message is usually associated with interrupted APP data loading after an upgrade, resulting in incomplete data. Go to “Mine” → “Data Update” and download the data again. If the update still cannot be completed, restore the machine to factory settings and upgrade the APP again. When using the machine for the first time after an upgrade, wait for the APP to finish loading and downloading all required data; do not interrupt loading or turn off the machine before it is complete.
