Resolve Error 1002 by Checking the Device QR Code

Restart the device, check for its QR code under About This Device, and try a factory reset; a missing QR code may indicate a mainboard issue.

Error 1002 means that a device port is occupied. Restart the device, then open My and select About This Device to check whether the QR code appears. If the QR code is missing, the device likely has a mainboard issue and the mainboard may need replacement. You can also try restoring the device to its factory settings.

What Error 1002 Indicates

The “1002 time out” message is associated with an occupied device port. The supported procedure uses the QR code on the device information screen as the main check. Whether that code appears helps determine if the issue may involve the mainboard.

Steps to Address the Error

  1. Restart the device and check its information screen. After restarting, go to My and then About This Device. Check whether a QR code is displayed on that screen.

  2. Interpret a missing QR code. If the QR code does not appear, a mainboard issue is likely. In this situation, the mainboard may need to be replaced.

  3. Try restoring the device to factory settings. Factory reset instructions can be found by searching for them in the search bar. Follow the applicable factory reset instructions for the device.

How to Use the QR Code Result

The QR code is the documented device check for this procedure. A missing QR code points to a likely mainboard issue. For a “Time Out” error that occurs during film cutting, a displayed QR code means the mainboard is working, although the cutting instruction may not have been completed. In that specific situation, restart the machine and begin the cutting process again after it reboots.

Completion Check and Limitation

After restarting the device, return to My and About This Device and confirm whether the QR code is displayed. If it is not displayed, the documented limitation is a likely mainboard malfunction that may require mainboard replacement. The other supported action for Error 1002 is restoring the device to factory settings.
